No more retyping requests into monday.com
An agent that turns client requests and meeting notes into monday.com items with owners and due dates through the official monday.com MCP server
The problem
Requests reach an agency or project team by email, LINE and meeting calls, and someone has to retype each one into the monday.com board, pick the group, set the owner and guess a due date. Items get created late or not at all, and the original request text is lost by the time the work is questioned.
How the agent works
The project lead connects monday.com's hosted MCP server (https://mcp.monday.com/mcp, OAuth through the Monday MCP app from the marketplace) to Claude Desktop, ChatGPT, Copilot Studio or Gemini CLI, or runs the npm package locally with a personal API token. They paste the client email or the meeting notes and name the board. The agent reads the board's columns and groups with get_board_schema, resolves names with list_users_and_teams and proposes a list of items with group, owner, due date and status. After the lead confirms, it calls create_item for each one, attaches the original request text as a comment with create_update, and later changes status or moves items between groups as work progresses. For recurring client intake, create_form builds a WorkForm so requests arrive structured in the first place. Start with the read-only flag while testing; the server also exposes delete_item and delete_column, so keep the agent on a confirm-before-write rule.
Worked example
monday.com's own MCP repository on GitHub lists the tools by category: create_item, delete_item, get_board_items_by_name, create_update, change_item_column_values and move_item_to_group for items; create_board, get_board_schema, create_group, create_column and delete_column for boards; list_users_and_teams; and create_form and get_form for WorkForms. Its example prompts are 'What items do I have in board 123?' and 'Can you create a board to manage my project?', and the Gemini CLI extension adds /monday:create-item and /monday:sprint-summary commands. The README documents the --read-only flag, the default and apps tool modes, and names Claude Desktop, Cursor, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot Studio, Mistral's le Chat and Gemini CLI as clients. No customer results are published.
