The AgentivUse cases

Find your next customers from your best ones

A sales agent that reads the closed won deals in HubSpot to profile your best customers, finds companies and contacts that match in Apollo, drafts the first email in the owner's voice, and waits for approval before anything is created in HubSpot or added to a sequence, with the Small Business plugin in Claude Cowork

Function: SalesEffort: An afternoonPublished: 2026-10-23

The problem

Outbound in a small company happens in bursts: the owner buys a list, sends a hundred cold emails that sound like everyone else's, then stops for three months when work picks up. Meanwhile the best customers in HubSpot share an obvious pattern that nobody has written down.

How the agent works

  1. It starts

The owner installs the Small Business plugin in Claude Cowork with the HubSpot and Apollo connectors and runs /grow-pipeline, which the plugin page describes as finding prospects similar to your best customers and writing outreach in your voice.

  2. The agent works

The agent queries HubSpot (query_crm_data) for the closed won deals of the last twelve months and the companies behind them and writes a short profile: industry, headcount, location and the trigger that made them buy. It then searches Apollo for companies that match (apollo_search_organizations, which the connector page says searches by industry, size, tech stack, funding, hiring and headcount growth) and the right people inside them (apollo_search_people, by title, seniority and location), enriches their work emails, and drafts a first email per contact in the owner's voice that refers to something specific about that company. The output is a weekly list of new prospects with the draft outreach, staged for review; the Apollo connector itself asks for confirmation before contacts go into a sequence and drafts multi step sequences for review before creating them. The owner approves or deletes each row; approved contacts are created in HubSpot (manage_crm_objects) and added to the sequence, and the /call-list command tells the owner who to call today.

  3. The result

Nothing is sent before the owner's approval, and rejected prospects are logged so they are not suggested again.

Worked example

The Small Business plugin page on claude.com lists 43 workflows including /grow-pipeline (finds prospects similar to your best customers and writes outreach in your voice), /call-list (tells you who to call today) and /speed-to-lead, and states that every workflow starts in approval mode: nothing is sent, posted or paid until you approve. The HubSpot connector page (made by HubSpot, Anthropic verified, added November 2025) lists 36 tools including query_crm_data, manage_crm_objects and manage_segment. The Apollo connector page (made by Apollo.io, added February 2026) lists 13 tools and notes that revealing phone numbers uses additional credits, that adding contacts to a sequence requires your confirmation, and that multi step email sequences are drafted for review before they are created in Apollo. Anthropic's Sales plugin page describes its outreach drafting skill as research first. None of these pages gives reply or meeting rates; measure meetings booked per 100 prospects approved.

Data protection. This use case touches personal data, so check the rules where you operate (for example GDPR, PDPA). Prospect names, job titles, work emails and phone numbers are personal data even in B2B. Keep a lawful basis for outreach where you operate, store the list in HubSpot only, do not reveal phone numbers unless a person will actually call, include an opt out in every email, and check the data processing terms of Apollo, HubSpot and Anthropic.

Reps rehearse the hard calls before they happen

A voice roleplay agent that lets sales reps rehearse hard customer conversations, scores each session on objection handling, rapport, product knowledge and next steps, and sends the scorecard to Slack, as Impel built on Claude

SalesEffort: About a weekClaude · Slack · Gong

A new sales hire learns the hard conversations by losing a few real ones first, and the owner is the only coach in the company. Ramping takes months, and the objections that cost deals are the same ones every time.

Your next proposal starts from your best ones

A sales agent that finds the last similar proposals in SharePoint and the client's email thread in Outlook through Claude's Microsoft 365 connector, and drafts the new proposal for the account manager to finish

SalesEffort: An afternoonMicrosoft 365 · SharePoint · Outlook

In an agency or systems integrator the best proposals live in SharePoint folders nobody can find, so each new one starts from a blank page or from whatever the account manager wrote last. Pricing tables, scope wording and case references get retyped, and the proposal goes out two days later than the client was promised.

No quote or renewal slips through again

An agent that checks HubSpot every morning for quotes with no reply and licences due for renewal, then drafts the follow up email and a task for the rep

SalesEffort: An afternoonHubSpot · Claude · Slack

A reseller sends a Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 quote, the customer goes quiet, and nobody follows up until the quarter review. Renewals are worse: the date sits in a deal property, the rep is busy, and the customer hears from the vendor before they hear from you.
